  • Penn State Harrisburg Earns 5 All Conference Selections: Donnelly Wins Coach of the Year

    After a fairy tale season for the Men’s soccer team at Penn State Harrisburg, the Lions have earned five Capital Athletic Conference all-star selections along with head coach Seamus Donnelly winning the Coach of the Year award.
  • Hyson Earns NSCAA Scholar All-Region Award

    Senior Captain Matthew Hyson was honored for his continued success in the classroom and on the soccer pitch by being named to the Scholar All-Region team from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
  • Kline Earns ECAC Honors

    Penn State Harrisburg's Aaron Kline (Lebanon, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon County) earned an ECAC Division III All-Second Team honor for the 2014 season. A junior transfer from Division II Bloomsburg, Kline made an immediate impact for the Lions. Kline led the Blue and White with eight goals, three being game winners, and added two assists. Kline also helped Harrisburg to a 14-6-1 record and a second place finish in both the CAC regular season and postseason tournament as well as an ECAC South runner up finish.

    Middletown, Pa – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s soccer team refuses to let anyone define their 2014 season. They were picked to finish last in the Capital Athletic Conference preseason poll and used the momentum all season as they fought for win after win; eventually finishing second place in regular season play. The Lions continued to defy the naysayers as they defeated a quality St. Mary’s (Md.) team 1-0 in a double overtime thriller at the Penn State Harrisburg soccer complex Wednesday November 5th.

    Top seeded Penn State Harrisburg continued their quest for the Eastern Colleges Athletic Conference South Region Championship Saturday with a victory over the number four seed Alvernia Crusaders. It took two overtime periods and a penalty kick shootout to decide the winner of this hard fought contest. The Lions were able to out shoot the Crusaders 4-2 in PK's to secure their spot in the ECAC South Championship game.

  • Penn State Harrisburg Earns #1 Seed in ECAC Tournament

    Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg did not just make the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament, but has also earned themselves a #1 seed in the South division. The Lions will host the #8 seed Cabrini College Wednesday night at Hershey Park Stadium for a 6:00 kickoff.

    Penn State Harrisburg has opened eyes throughout the Capital Athletic Conference this season. Picked to finish last in the CAC, the Lions took this to heart and shocked everyone by battling game in and game out to finish second in the regular season and advance to the conference championship. Unfortunately, the Blue and White's stunning season did not have a fairy tale ending as the five seed Christopher Newport, #20th in the country, tamed the Lions 3-1 on their home turf Saturday November 8th.

    Coming into Wednesday, Penn State Harrisburg had clinched a CAC playoff birth, but with so many teams bunched up at the top, there was no certainty how the seedings would play out. After a 2-2 tie at Mary Washington, the Lions finish as the number two seed in the CAC and are set to host their second round playoff game November 5th at 6pm.
  • Sophomore Brandon Hoover Earns CAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of Week Award

    Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Brandon Hoover was awarded as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 12 saves in helping the Lions secure a CAC playoff bid with a pair of key wins last week. Hoover opened the week with four saves in a shutout 1-0 triumph over Frostburg State, before turning back eight shots in a 3-1 triumph over 11th-ranked Christopher Newport.

  • Penn State Harrisburg Junior Aaron Kline Earn CAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Award

    Penn State Harrisburg junior Aaron Kline and Frostburg State sophomore Hassan Mostafa were named the CAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 13, 2014. Kline was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring all three of the Lions goals in CAC victories over York and No. 25 Salisbury. Mostafa was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting two shutouts with 19 saves in a 1-0-1 week.

The lions got off to a slow start giving up two goals in the first 15 minutes of play and were not able to right the ship after that. Despite a tough effort by Harrisburg to get back into the game, it just wasn't enough to give the lions their seventh win of the season as they drop to 6-2 on the year.
