Kline Earns ECAC Honors

Penn State Harrisburg's Aaron Kline (Lebanon, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon County) earned an ECAC Division III All-Second Team honor for the 2014 season.  A junior transfer from Division II Bloomsburg, Kline made an immediate impact for the Lions.  Kline led the Blue and White with eight goals, three being game winners, and added two assists.  Kline also helped Harrisburg to a 14-6-1 record and a second place finish in both the CAC regular season and postseason tournament as well as an ECAC South runner up finish.

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2014 Division III South Region Men's Soccer All-Star teams on Tuesday. Senior Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, Pa.) of Penn State – Behrend was selected as Offensive Player of the Year, while Franklin & Marshall's Chris Scott (Bridgewater, N.J.) achieved Defensive Player of the Year honors. Franciscan freshman Leo Herrmann (Steubenville, Ohio) earned Rookie of the Year accolades, while Muhlenberg Head Coach, Sean Topping, was voted ECAC Coach of the Year. Representatives at ECAC Division III South member institutions completed the voting.

Belack, a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region First Team, was a point machine for Penn State – Behrend this season. In helping the Lions to a second consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship, Belack posted team-highs of 17 goals and 14 assists. In addition, Belack tied the Lions' program record with 48 total points in 2014, while also becoming the school's all-time leader in assists. The Pennsylvania native finished his illustrious career second in the Penn State – Behrend record books in both career points and goals.

Scott led the way for a Franklin & Marshall defensive unit that posted 13 shutouts this season and allowed just 12 goals in 21 games. The New Jersey native was also clutch on offense, scoring the lone Diplomats goal in a 1-0 victory over Johnson & Wales in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Diplomats ended the season with a 16-2-3 record, falling 2-1 to SUNY Oneonta in the NCAA "Sweet 16."

Herrmann takes home Rookie of the Year honors after providing instant offense for the Barons this season. The rookie from Steubenville, Ohio scored a team-high 15 goals this season, eight more than any other Franciscan player. It didn't take Herrmann very long to get acclimated to the college game, as the freshman scored four goals during the opening week of the season. Herrmann also dished out three assists to finish 2014 with 33 total points and led all newcomers in the AMCC.

Topping claims the coaches' vote after leading the Mules to a 15-2-3 record this season and a Centennial Conference Championship. Also named NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year, Topping coached Muhlenberg to a berth into the NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16". Muhlenberg was ranked in the top 10 nationally in Division III heading into the NCAA Tournament. Currently sitting with the second most wins in program history, Topping will enter 2015 with a career record of 154-69-2 in 13 seasons.
