Penn State Harrisburg Announces 2015-2016 CAC All-Academic TeamJune 28, 2016Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Academic Team. The Lion athletic teams had 89 men and women earn the honor to be on the All-Academic team this year. To make the team, athletes must receive a 3.2 GPA over the course of the entire year.

Not only did he qualify in the men's discus to participate in the NCAA Championships held in Waverly, Iowa at Wartburg College May 26th, he has now claimed the bronze medal with his longest toss of the day and his career at 53.19m.

Penn State Harrisburg Finishes Strong at ECAC ChampionshipsMay 20, 2016Westfield, MA – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s and women’s outdoor track teams finished off their team competitions for the year with strong showings from both the men’s and women’s side at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships May 18-29, 2016 hosted at Westfield State University . Although, there were multiple top ten finisher’s, freshman Cameron Yon (Patuxent River, MD / Great Mills High School) continued to show his dominance with a second place finish in the men’s discuss, earning him the right to compete at next week’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Waverly, Iowa.

Lions Finish Regular Season Strong at Jim Thorpe OpenMay 07, 2016University Park, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track and field team took advantage at their final outing of the year at the Jim Thorpe Open hosted at Penn State University on May 6th. The Lions in just their second season of NCAA Division III competition had two CAC title winners. Ashley Williams (Easton, PA / Easton Area High School) took home the women’s 60 meter hurdle title and Jalil Clayton (Chester, PA / Chester High School) took home a first place finish in the men’s high jump.

Clayton Takes CAC CrownFebruary 22, 2016The Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track and field teams competed Sunday February 21st in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Christopher Newport. Jalil Clayton (Chester, PA / Chester High School) took home a first place finish in the men's high jump and also earned a 4th place finish in the 200 meter run individually and a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. He was joined in the relay alongside teammates Isaiah Waters (Montclair, NJ / Montclair High School), Vladhimir Theophile (Reading, PA / Cherry Hill East High School), and Korey Christian.

CAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship PreviewFebruary 18, 2016Under the direction of head coach Danielle Lynch, PENN STATE HARRISBURG will aim to improve on its point total from last year’s championship. The Lions are in just their second year of varsity track & field, with last season’s indoor meet serving as their first taste of track & field championship competition. Freshman Jalil Clayton enters the meet with the top high jump mark in the conference this season at 6’-4.75”, while senior Josiah Owheand freshman Jared Alpaugh rank second and third in the long jump, respectively.

Lions Open Season at Bow-Tie ClassicDecember 05, 2015Penn State Harrisburg traveled to Ursinus College to compete in their first meet of the year, The Bow-tie Classic, this past Saturday, December 5th. The team started their year off with a bang, breaking seven school records, qualifying three for the CAC Championships, and qualifying one for the ECAC Championships.
