Penn State Harrisburg Announces 2015-2016 CAC All-Academic Team

Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Academic Team.  The Lion athletic teams had 89 men and women earn the honor to be on the All-Academic team this year.  To make the team, athletes must receive a 3.2 GPA over the course of the entire year.  

Below you can find the list of all the Penn State Harrisburg athletes who made the team, but here a few of the athletes who earned some extra recognition with garnering their second or third All-Academic team award.  Men's baseball had two players, Junior Brian Goodling took his second award while pitcher Derek Slagle claimed his third straight season with high academic marks.

Matthew Cohen, Rachel Sechrist, and Kyla Line represented both the men's and women's cross country/track and field teams for at least the second time.  Men's golf did exceptionally well with almost the entire team earning the award while Tyler Massar, Tyler Shank, and Chris Spittle added another year on top academically to their resumes.  Men's soccer had the largest number of athletes with 13 players making the team.  Brandon Hoover, Aaron Kline, and Alex Pannuccio were previous year honorrees. Tyler Cook was the only one of the eight men's tennis players on the All-Academic team to be honored for his second straight year.  

Women's sofball had four players earning multi-year academic honor.  Junior's Amanda Hartman and Kayla Seyfert both claimed the honor for the third time, while Sophomore Kristen Evans made the team for a second straight year.  Jasmine Yanich, softball and women's basketball, is now also a three year member of the CAC All-Academic team.  Kaitlyn Carmo, also women's basketball, has now made the team every year she has participated in the CAC.  

Women's soccer had six of their ten players on the academic team earning the honor for an additonal year.  Alyssa Crowley, Eliza Grim, Erica Hile, Sam Kutcher, Kristin Peckman, and Fay Ansary (also women's tennis) all reached the 3.2 mark for at least a second year.   Jessica Miller, was the other women's tennis player to make the All-Academic team for the second time.
