The 2016 CAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship are set for this Friday and Saturday, April 22-23, at Frostburg State's Bobcat Stadium.

The two-day competition begins on Friday with a handful of events at 3 p.m., including the pole vault, hammer, javelin, triple jump and 10,000-meter runs. Day two on Saturday includes field events beginning at 10 a.m. and running event finals at 11 a.m.

The Christopher Newport women will look to continue their championship winning streak this weekend. The Captains are five-for-five in CAC Championships since joining the conference in 2013-14, capturing three straight indoor titles and back-to-back outdoor crowns.

The Captains defeated second-place Wesley by 40 points at this year's indoor championship, led by multiple gold medal performances from Indoor Athlete of the Year Logan Harrington and Lydia Cromwell.

On the men's side, Salisbury secured its fourth straight CAC crown at the 2015 meet, and will look to keep its outdoor streak going at the 2016 edition of the CAC outdoor championships.

The Sea Gulls had their four-year indoor title streak snapped this year by Christopher Newport, as the Captains raced to their first-ever CAC indoor title. A number of talented standouts are ready to compete for championships this weekend, including reigning indoor athlete of the year J.R. Lowery from Frostburg State and two-time defending outdoor athlete of the year Luke Campbell of Salisbury.
