  • Nittany Lions Sweep Inaugural Series at New Field

    Middletown — Penn State Harrisburg used 20 hits to win the home opener 19-7, and then was helped by a strong performance on the mound by Barry Wiestling (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) to win the second game 11-1 against the Spartans of D’Youville College. The games not only were the first two at Penn State Harrisburg Baseball Field, but they were the Blue and White’s first two games in the North Eastern Athletic Conference this season. With the sweep Sunday the Nittany Lions are now 5-9 overall, and 2-0 in the NEAC while D’Youville College is now 0-11 overall, and 0-4 in the NEAC.

  • Nittany Lions Remain Perfect in NEAC

    Middletown — In an early season match-up pitting the two teams in first place in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) the Nittany Lions used some timely hitting to win both games against the Crimson Eagles of Philadelphia Biblical University. The first game went the Blue and White’s way 9-2, while in game two they needed a seventh inning rally to win 5-4. The two wins for Penn State Harrisburg improve their record to 7-9 overall and 4-0 in the NEAC. Philadelphia Biblical University drops to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in the NEAC.

    Penn State Harrisburg recognized the contributions and accomplishments of the spring student-athletes on 6 varsity teams for 2008 at the bi-annual Athletics Banquet April 30th, on campus. Student-Atheltes of the year were awarded to Seth Lewis and Krystal Miranda for their dedication and sportsmanship.

    Middletown — Thursday March 27th will mark a very special day in Penn State Harrisburg athletics. That is the official opening day of the Nittany Lions brand new baseball field, as the baseball team will play host to Penn State Hazleton.
