With the 2018 regular season now complete, Penn State Harrisburg’s men’s and women’s soccer teams turn their attention to the postseason. Both squads will take part in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Soccer Tournaments, with first-round action set to begin this weekend.
Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg Assistant Coach Rudy Grubesky recently had the opportunity to visit the Seminole Soccer Complex and the offices of the Orlando City Youth Soccer Club in Sanford, Florida. At the same soccer complex, Coach Grubesky was permitted to observe a training session for the club’s National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, the Orlando Pride.
The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team and coaching staff will be holding their annual Spring ID clinic on Saturday April 14th from 1:00-4:00 pm. The campus is also holding their Spring Open house that day. Our staff will be here for the entire day to give personal tours in conjunction with all the other open house activites that are available to everyone.
Harrisburg, Pa - Penn State Harrisburg wants to recognize its outstanding Student-Athletes who are excelling in the class room and on the field. This fall across all 17 of the Intercollegiate Teams, 68 Student-Athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, placing them on the Fall Deans List. Congratulation to the following Student-Athletes:
Middletown Pa. - On Saturday April 14th, Penn State Harrisburg is hosting an open house on campus. In addition to the program provided through admissions, the women's soccer team will be offering private tours and lunch for interested athletes. The team is also holding a Spring ID Clinic in conjunction with the open house from 1-4pm. Soccer ID Clinic is completely optional, but may work well for those looking to get a full feel of the campus/program.
The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team has scheduled their third annual spring alumni game for Saturday April 7th, 2018. The game will be played at 1:00 pm and followed by a team tailgate. All Alumni will receive a jersey and we are asking everyone to register if they plan to attend....Click here to register
The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team and coaching staff will be holding their annual Winter ID clinic on Saturday Feb. 17th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. There is also an optional campus tour offered following the clinic for those who are interested in attending.
The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team faced off in their first ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament with a successful outing over the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen. Harrisburg claimed a 2-0 win thanks to a brilliant team effort that was capped off with a two goal night from Kristen Stark.
Harrisburg will face host team Albright College on Sunday at 2pm in the Elite 8 of the ECAC Soccer Tournament! The game will also be available to watch on live stream.
Harrisburg, Pa- The Capital Athletic Conference announced its Women's Soccer All-CAC teams featuring Penn State Harrisburg's Kristen Stark and Madison Hemler. Stark, who received All-CAC honors, lead the Lions in scoring with 13 goals and 5 of which were game winning goals. Madison Hemler qualified for the All-CAC team as a defender, thanks to her consistent play. Hemler also scored 3 goals on the season.

Harrisburg, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg has earned a birth into the ECAC Tournament. This will be the Lady Lions first trip to ECAC's. Salisbury, Md. – The Penn State Harrisburg women’s soccer team battled for 90 minutes on the road in their first ever Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) playoff game Saturday October 28th. The Salisbury Seagulls hosted the contest as the #3 seed.
Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team finished their Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) regular season on Wednesday October 25th at home with a 2-0 loss to Mary Washington. Fortunately for the Lions, their four wins in CAC play was just enough to earn the sixth place seed in the conference playoffs.
Harrisburg, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg fell in its regular season finale against the University of Mary Washington 2-0. The Eagles used two first half goals to take control of the game. The Blue & White would settle in, with Kristen Stark taking 4 shots, but they were unable to find an answer. In goal Kayla Arnold would record 6 saves for the Lions.
Harrisburg, Pa. – Senior Day was a complete success as the Lions roared to a 5-1 victory over Marymount. Before the game Harrisburg honored it's five seniors; Rachel Asper, Kylie Courtney, Eliza Grim, Erica Hile, and Alexis Quinn. The Lions offense quickly built a 3-0 lead by scoring goals in the 10th, 12th and 28th minutes. The Blue and White would add two goals in the second half to cruise to a 5-1 victory. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-4 in CAC play and have positioned themselves in a great position to reach their first ever playoff berth.
Harrisburg, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg battled Frostburg St. in a conference match up that was scoreless for the first 80 minutes. The Lions got an excellent defensive effort from Tabitha Fake who routinely cleared balls from the defense end and her physical play stifled the Bobcats attack for most of the game. The Bobcats would score twice in the 81st and 85th minute to prevail 2-0.
Newport News, VA. – Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper Kayla Arnold recorded a season-high 16 saves against Christopher Newport. The Captains’ offensive attack pressured the Lions defense all game taking 34 shots, but were only able to find the back of the net once. Meanwhile the Lions offense put four shots on goal, but were unable to find a goal of their own falling 1-0.
Middletown, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg rallied back from a one goal deficit. Raquel Grice scored in the 56th minute to tie the game at 2. Kristen Stark would break free in the 73rd minute, giving the Lions 3-2 victory. With the win, the Lions improve to 3-2 in CAC play.
Salisbury, Md. – The Lady Lions struggled on the road against the Salisbury Seagulls on Saturday October 7th. The Seagulls scored a goal in the ninth minute that seemed to put Harrisburg on their heels for the rest of the first half. The Seagulls held on strong in the second half and eventually claimed the 2-0 win.
Middletown, Pa. – Bailey Smith drove in a double overtime goal to give the Lions a 1-0 victory over local Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) rival York College. The Lions goal was set up with a well placed free kick by Madison Hemler. The Lions improve to 2-1 in the conference with the win.
Penn State Harrisburg junior Kristen Stark was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals in a 2-0 week for the Lions. Stark opened the week with her first career hat trick in a 6-1 victory over Lycoming, registering all three goals in the opening 45 minutes of play. She followed that performance by recording the game-winning goal in the Lions' 3-0 victory over Southern Virginia in CAC action. Stark leads the CAC with 10 goals this season.
Middletown, Pa. – The Lady Lions kept their unbeaten home record in tact with an impressive 3-0 win over the Southern Virginia Knights on Saturday September 30th. Kristen Stark, Raquel Grice and Elizabeth Clippinger all chipped in with a goal apiece for the win.
Middletown, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg used a first half hat trick by Kristen Stark to power to a 6-1 victory over Lycoming. Penn State Harrisburg built a 4-1 first half lead thanks to a Raquel Grice goal and maintained the control of play in the second half. The Lions would see Haley Vavrek and Grice net a goal each to close out the game.
St. Mary’s, Md. – Penn State Harrisburg opened up Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Play on Saturday September 23rd against the St. Mary’s Seahawks. The Lions were on the road for their first conference contest. After a very impressive start to the match, the Lions made a costly mistake that handed the Seahawks their first goal in the 27th minute.
Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg was forced to battle early during their match against the Penn College Wildcats on Wednesday September 20th. The Wildcats and Lions went shot for shot during an intense first 15 minutes of play, Harrisburg quickly found their stride and took control as the first half went on. Kylie Courtney played exceptionally well, assisting on the first and scoring the second for the Blue and White in the 4-1 win.
St. Davids, Pa. – The Lions traveled to Eastern University on Saturday September 16th looking to build on their 10-0 win Wednesday over Clarks Summit University. Eastern had hopes of following up their 2-1 OT win against a quality Haverford College team. In the end, the Lions made a few costly mistakes in the defensive third that were too much to overcome as the Eagles claimed a 2-1 win.
Middletown, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg provided a dominating performance over the Clarks Summit Defenders on Wednesday September 13th. Kristen Stark got the Blue and White on the scoreboard first and the team never looked back en route to a 10-0 win.
Washington D.C – The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team took part in the Catholic Tournament over the weekend. After the Lions first lost and worst performance of the season against Randolph-Macon, they bounced back to defeat Guilford University 1-0 on Sunday.
Palmyra, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg and the Elizabethtown Blue Jays were forced to wait an additional day due to weather delays to play this highly anticipated match. Lancaster, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team traveled to play the Lancaster Bible Chargers on Saturday September 2nd. The Lions withstood the rainy conditions and a hard fighting Charger team for a 3-0 win and a second consecutive shutout.
