How it Happened:

The Lions were forced to battle early, but another Stark goal to start the game in the 25th minute put the team on track.  Unfortunately despite taking control of the game, a costly error in the back allowed an easy goal for Penn College making the game 1-1 32 minutes into the first.  Kylie Courtney's corner kick just a minute later answered the Wildcats push and gave the home squad a 2-1 lead.

Elizabeth Clippinger played a phenomenal game and was rewarded with a moment of brilliance as she drove from 35 yards out past four Wildcat defenders before burying her first goal of the season.

Penn State Harrisburg played better soccer in the second half, but were held to just one additional goal despite multiple quality chances.   Danielle Marroquinn did well at goalkeeper, recording five saves in the contest.

Coaches Thoughts:

"I was very proud of the team today.  They finally worked the ball against a quality opponent and showed what they can do.  We still have plenty to work on, but the women are starting to gel as a unit and it is starting to show on the field."  Head Coach Adam Clay
