Aranoff, Gibson Sweep United East XC Weekly Accolades

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to their performances over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg's Tatyana Gibson and Paolo Aranoff have swept the United East Men's and Women's Cross Country Weekly Awards. Gibson has been named the women's runner of the week, while Aranoff earned men's runner of the week recognition.

Gibson's outstanding rookie campaign continued at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning. The freshman turned in an effort of 24:24.4; a mark strong enough to top the previous program record in a 6K event and secure her a 19th-place finish out of 179 total runners. Her most-recent conference accolade is her second weekly award of the season.

Aranoff led the way for Penn State Harrisburg's men at DeSales, as his effort of 28:31.2 was strong enough to secure him a 54th-place finish out of 189 total competitors. The freshman's 8K mark also proved a new personal best and the third-quickest time in program history. His most-recent conference weekly honor is the second he's earned this fall.

The Lions will head to Hood on Saturday morning, Oct. 16 for one last tune up before turning their focus to the United East Championships on Oct. 30.
