XC Takes Part In LVC's Last Chance Run Fast Invitational

LEBANON, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams took part in the LVC Last Chance Run Fast Invitational at Union Canal Tunnel Park on Friday evening, Oct. 20. The men finished 11th of 15 competing teams, while the women finished 11th of 11 squads.

 

On the women's side, Sarah Gibbons continued to lead the way. The freshman was the team's top finisher in 44th place out of 90 total runners thanks to her effort of 28:53.87 in the 6K race. Alyssa Snyder, Sumedha Ramaswamy, Kaitlyn Davis, Dominique Taylor, and Katrin Cavanaugh completed the running contingency for Penn State Harrisburg.

 

For the men, it was Jon Carnesi who led the way. His strong season continued as he crossed the finish line in 57th place in a field of 142 total runners thanks to his time of 29:39.68 in the 8K event. Angel Patino came home 91st, while Darryl Osei, Tyler Pierce, and Nick Spohn completed the scoring group for the Lions. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg will now turn its attention to the season finale as the Lions will take part in the 2023 United East Championships hosted by Cairn next Saturday morning, Oct. 28.
