Men's XC Has Strong Showing at Abington Invitational

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's cross country team turned in a strong showing at the Abington Invitational hosted by Penn State Abington at Lorimer Park on Saturday morning, Sept. 30.

 

As a group, the Lions secured a fifth-place finish out of 17 competing teams, while Jon Carnesi led the way as an individual, finishing the 8K race in 31:28.0 to earn a 17-place finish out of 115 total runners.

 

Angel Pantino came through with a top-30 finish, as his time of 32:20.2 was good enough for 27th overall. Darryl Osei was the team's third runner to secure a top-50 finish thanks to his effort of 34:28.2 that proved strong enough for 47th place.

 

Caleb Mendolia finished in 64th place and Camden Lynch wasn't far behind in 66th. Steven Benavides crossed the finish line in 78th place and Nick Spohn rounded things out for Penn State Harrisburg with a 94th-place effort.

 

The men's and women's cross country teams are scheduled to return to action at the Coach Caslin Classic hosted by Goucher in Baltimore, Md. next Saturday.
