Ladies Use Final Run to Prepare for Conference Championships

HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's cross country team had one last chance to prepare for the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) championship invitational when taking part in Elizabethtown College's annual "Battle for the Buggy" at Shank Park on Saturday, Oct. 21.  Despite the lack of top individual finishes, the Lions remained consistent in their times.  Messiah won the team title while Gettysburg's Julie Laudenschlage took home the individual trophy.  The Blue and White finished 13th of 14 teams.

As she has been for most of this fall's meets, junior Alisha House (Crownpoint, N.M. / Thoreau) was Penn State Harrisburg's top finisher in 96th place thanks to her time of 21:37.

Sophomore and Middletown native Hannah Jorich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) turned in another solid performance with a time of 23:58, good enough for 126th place.

Freshman Haldis Zhang (Nanjing, Tiansu) crossed the finish line just two spots behind Jorich while sophomores Rosanny Reyes (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) and AnneMarie Prozillo (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) finished back-to-back in the 134th and 135th spots.

Penn State Harrisburg's final outing of the 2012 campaign comes next Saturday morning when the Lions take part in the conference's championship invitational on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Abington, Pa.
