W. Tennis Remains Undefeated in Conference Play

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg women's tennis team remains undefeated in conference play as they swept Penn State Berks 9-0 on Saturday afternoon, April 6. 

 

The Lions (8-6, 3-0 United East) made quick work of the home team in doubles play, with Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis rolling to an 8-0 win in top matchup and Olivia Bandini and Sophia Bandini also recording an 8-0 sweep in the No. 2 contest. Anita Liu and Sarah Shaub rounded things out with an 8-0 victory of their own over Sam Hagenbush and Kylie Dunn in the last doubles match of the day. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg was almost perfect in singles action as well, as they tallied four 6-0, 6-0 sweeps on the afternoon. Wootton went over Bel Clayton 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 solo match and O. Bandini came away with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alyssa Love in the second outing. The No. 3 match saw DeSantis secure a 6-0, 6-1 victory, while S. Bandini earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision against Jules Lesher in the No. 4 spot. Liu and Dey secured the sweep with 6-0, 6-0 victories in both of their respective matchups. 

 

The Blue & White will look to earn their fourth straight United East conference victory when they travel to Penn State Abington on Thursday afternoon, April 11. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
