HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team swept Buena Vista 5-0 during a match that was called short due to rain on Tuesday afternoon, March 5.

The Lions (3-5) won all three doubles matches to set the stage for their eventual sweep. Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis defeated Buena Vista's Macy Weller and Rachel Brockney 8-2 in the top outing. The No. 2 duo of Olivia Bandini and Anita Liu rolled to an 8-0 decision over Hailey Meseck and Nancy Flores, while Sarah Shaub and Hailey Dey held off Lily Gust and Abigail King in an 8-2 victory in the third contest.

Only two singles matches were able to be finished because of rain in South Carolina, but Penn State Harrisburg was able to come away with both outings. Wootton earned the win in the No. 1 singles matchup 6-2, 6-1 over Weller and Bandini made quick work of Brockney in the second contest thanks to scores of 6-1, 6-0. Due to the bad weather in the area, the Lions' last four singles matches were unable to be played.

Penn State Harrisburg will attempt to keep their win streak alive in Hilton Head, as they take on Roanoke on Wednesday afternoon, March 6.
