LATHAM, N.Y. - Olivia Bandini has been named the United East Women's Tennis Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year to lead Penn State Harrisburg's five all-conference selections, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

In addition to her major awards, Bandini joined teammates Breanna DeSantis, Carissa Fallon, Sarah Shaub, and Gabrielle Sabatose as players to earn all-conference recognition.

Bandini is the first player in program history to be named conference player of the year and rookie of the year in the same season. The freshman also earned a pair of all-conference first-team honors at the No. 1 singles designation and the No. 1 doubles slot. The Dillsburg, Pa. native finished her rookie campaign undefeated against United East competition in both singles and doubles play. She tallied 20 total wins on the year, including 10 each in solo and doubles action. For her efforts, she earned United East Player of the Week accolades four times this season.

DeSantis joined Bandini as an all-conference first-team pick at the No. 1 doubles designation. The sophomore also secured all-conference second-team honors at the No. 2 singles spot. DeSantis and Bandini finished the season with nine wins as partners in the top doubles slot, including a perfect 5-0 record against conference opponents. The El Paso, Texas native was also perfect against United East foes in singles action this spring.

Fallon was named to the all-conference first team at the No. 6 singles spot after picking up four wins against United East opponents as a solo player this spring. On the whole, the sophomore finished with just one loss from the sixth singles position.

Shaub and Sabatose garnered all-conference second-team recognition at the No. 2 doubles designation thanks to four victories when pairing up against conference competition this spring. As a duo, they suffered just one setback against United East foes this season and won seven total matches dating back to the fall campaign.

The Lions (7-5, 4-1 United East) begin postseason play at the Hershey Racquet Club on Saturday night when they face Lancaster Bible in the semifinal round of the United East Championship Tournament.
