Women's Tennis Conquers Spartans

Women's tennis player goes to high five her teammate against York (Pa.) on Saturday, Sept. 24.

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team secured a narrow victory over non-conference opponent York College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 24.  

 

The No. 2 doubles contest saw Samantha Bogush and Sophia Bandini team up to top York's Hannah Sult and Bri Serruto 8-6. Gabrielle Sabatose and Sarah Shaub earned an 8-5 win over Morrissey Walsh and Eleanor Beck in the third outing.  

 

In singles action, Olivia Bandini bested Sult 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 2 slot and Breanna DeSantis worked hard for a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Serruto in the No. 3 match. Sabatose finished up the day for the Lions, as she secured a 6-1, 6-3 win against Claire Bernard in the No. 6 matchup.  

 
The Blue & White are set to play next at Messiah on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m.
