Women's Tennis Comes From Behind to Top Lancaster Bible

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - After suffering its first conference loss of the season earlier in the week, Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team bounced back with a 6-3 victory over United East foe Lancaster Bible at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon, April 14.

The Lions (6-5, 3-1 United East) dropped two of the three doubles contests to their LBC counterparts, with the No. 2 team of Isabella Pizzelanti and Sarah Shaub proving the lone Blue & White team to emerge victorious thanks to an 8-1 decision against Madi Strickler and Chloe Campbell.

Penn State Harrisburg roared back in singles play, however, with Sydney Nye besting Cara DiCiano 6-3, 7-6 in the top solo outing, while Breanna DeSantis and Pizzelanti rolled to 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in the No. 2 and No. 3 contests, respectively. Shaub's 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 4 matchup clinched the overall team victory, while Annalisa Petrascu put the finishing touches on the win by claiming a 6-4, 7-5 decision in the fifth solo outing.

The Blue & White have a quick turnaround, as they are set to host Division II Kutztown at the Hoverter Tennis Complex in their next matchup on Saturday afternoon.
