Women's Tennis Falls to Misericordia

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Misericordia at the Hoverter Tennis Complex in the squad's final home match of the fall on Friday afternoon, Oct. 8. 

 

The Lions (1-3) earned an early victory in doubles play when Sarah Shaub teamed with Pooja Soni to secure an 8-6 win over MU's Lydia Barbour and Cassie Benderavich in the No. 3 contest.  

 

Breanna DeSantos was Penn State Harrisburg's top singles player to emerge victorious in solo action, as the No. 2 competitor topped the Cougars' Emily Brecker 7-6, 5-4. Shaub stayed perfect on the day when she handled Benderavich 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 5 contest.   

 

The Lions wrap up their fall season when they travel to Susquehanna for another non-conference tilt on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 9. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
