CHAMPS! Women's Tennis Wins Second Conference Title

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg women's tennis won the second North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship in program history thanks to a 7-2 victory over Lancaster Bible in the conference title match at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon, May 1.

The Lions will now have the opportunity to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament when they face the winner of Sunday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Final at a later date.

The Blue & White set the tone in doubles play, with the No. 1 team of Rachael Lim and Sydney Nye defeating LBC's Deanna Graber and Cara DiCiano 8-3, while the No. 3 pairing of Gabrielle Sabatose and Mary Connolly made quick work of Kaitlin Kirby and Chloe Campbell in an 8-1 win.

It was more of the same in singles action, with Lim topping Graber 6-4, 6-2 in the top solo contest, Olivia Hitz besting Haylee Fishel 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 3 outing, Sabatose defeating Kenedi Berkhimer 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 in the third matchup, Annalisa Petrascu rolling Kirby 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 5 spot, and Isabella Pizzelanti going over Campbell 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 6 contest.

The championship victory improved Penn State Harrisburg to 7-0 on the season and secured the conference title for the Blue & White after earning the league's regular-season crown last week. The Lions will now await the NAC Championship winner with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
