No. 12 Mary Washington Tops Women's Tennis

HERSHEY, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis match against No. 12 Mary Washington was forced to a change of venue, moving indoors to the Hershey Racquet Club due to impending weather. The Blue & White fell 6-0 to their Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) counterparts on Friday afternoon, April 5.

Doubles play wasn't contested on Friday but top Penn State Harrisburg's top singles player Sydney Nye turned in an impressive effort in the No. 1 matchup, fighting back from an early deficit to push UMW's Rachel Summers before falling 6-0, 7-5. Claire Hackenberg also earned a point for the Lions (5-10, 0-4 CAC) before dropping a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Rachel Cooper in the No. 4 outing.

Penn State Harrisburg will wrap up its weekend home stand when the team hosts CAC foe St. Mary's (Md.) at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon, April 6.
