Lions Shut Out in Spring Opener

Lions Shut Out in Spring Opener

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Blue and White women's tennis team struggled in their first outing of the year against a very impressive Westminster (Pa.) College team.  The ladies fought hard at every level, but the now 16-1 Titans kept the pressure on and went 9-0 shutting out the Lions.

In Single's Action, #1 player Theodora Avramidis(Vernon, N.J. / Vernon Township) won the most games for Harrisburg, still suffering a tough defeat at the hands of the Titan's top performer Caitlin Hosler.  Morgan Acker was the only other Harrisburg athlete to win a game in singles as the other four athletes were all shut out.

Doubles competition was more of the same, Avramidis/Stephanie Harnden (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) won a game, while the #2 and #3 spots went down quickly.

Harrisburg continues their Spring Break trip filled with tennis competing daily through Thursday.  They will face off against Gordon College on Tuesday March 11th.
