Women's Soccer Tops Wells to Record Fifth Straight Shutout

AURORA, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team recorded its fifth shutout in as many outings with an impressive 9-0 conference victory over United East foe Wells on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15.

 

Kyla Brossoit and Serenity Hill led the way for the Lions (9-3-3, 5-0-1 United East) on offense, scoring two goals apiece, while Sydney Armstrong recorded multiple points thanks to a marker and an assist. 

 

Mackenzie Mowery got the scoring started with a goal in the seventh minute and Brossoit doubled the advantage with her first strike 10 minutes later. Abigail Frew found twine in the 25th minute, Hill notched her first goal off a Gabriella Muccio feed five minutes later, and Hannah Morrison made it 5-0 heading into halftime.

 

After the break, Brossoit netted her second of the contest before reigning United East Defensive Player of the Week Sydney Hemler tacked on another in the 48th minute. Hill converted her second goal of the day off an Armstrong assist in the 78th minute and Armstrong put a cap on the scoring with a marker with 39 seconds left to play.
