MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team fought to a 1-1 draw with Widener in the 2022 season opener on Thursday night, Sept. 1.

In the first action of her collegiate career, Serenity Hill found the back of the net from point-blank range in the 67th minute but the visitors took advantage of a late PK to eventually escape with a tie.

After the Lions (0-0-1) dictated the tempo for much of the game's first 60 minutes, Hill got into the scoring act midway through the second half when she finished off a beautiful cross that Amy Patkos sent into the box from the left corner with 22:02 left to play.

The Pride (0-0-1) caught a break 10 minutes later, however, when Penn State Harrisburg (0-0-1) was whistled for a foul in the box, resulting in a penalty kick that Madison Forte converted for the equalizer with less than 12 minutes remaining.
