Women's Soccer Headed to McDaniel For NCAA Tournament

 

INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in program history, Penn State Harrisburg will compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, as revealed by the tournament selection committee on Monday afternoon, Nov. 9. 

  

The Lions (12-4-4) won the United East Championship on Sunday afternoon to clinch the conference's automatic qualifier. Penn State Harrisburg will travel to McDaniel to take on the No. 7 Green Terror (17-1-1) in the team's first-round contest at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, Nov. 13. The Blue & White are joined in the pod at McDaniel by No. 15 Carnegie Mellon (11-5-1) and Trine (15-4-2). The winners of Saturday's matchups will meet in second-round action on Sunday afternoon. 

 

Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites Nov. 19 and 20 or 20 and 21. All games, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the semifinals Dec. 3 and 4 at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, N.C., with UNC Greensboro and Greensboro Sports Foundation serving as hosts.
