Women's Soccer Advances to Conference Championship Game

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team shut out Lancaster Bible 3-0 in United East Semifinal action on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 6. The Lions advance to the conference championship game for the second season in a row.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (11-4-4) struck early and never looked back in a 3-0 blanking of Lancaster Bible (9-10) in conference semifinal play on Saturday afternoon. The Lions will return to the United East Championship Game for the second straight season.

The Blue & White got the scoring started when Rhyan Socash crossed a ball through the box that Eden Haldeman finished off with strike past LBC goalkeeper Erin Mikula in the 15th minute. Mikula bounced back and made numerous saves throughout the rest of the first half to keep the Chargers in it but the Lions struck again just before halftime when Jaylan Cockley hit home a ball off a touch from Christina Radanovich following a Hollie Holthaus corner insertion in the 44th minute.

The advantage held steady late into the second half before Socash gathered a ball near midfield, drove the rest of the way into the LBC box, and put her shot past two LBC defenders and into the back of the net to put the game on ice in the 81st minute.
