W. Soccer Poised to Host Conference Championship Tourney

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team clinched the 2021 United East Women's Soccer Regular Season Championship after finishing the regular season unbeaten in conference play. In addition to securing the program's second regular season title, the Lions also earned the right to host the upcoming United East Women's Soccer Championship Tournament.

Penn State Harrisburg (10-4-4, 7-0-1 United East) is currently in the midst of one of the most successful campaigns in program history. The Lions did not suffer a loss in conference play en route to claiming the program's first regular season conference championship since 2009. The team is currently riding a six-game win streak and leads the United East in total goals (37), total points (93), and shutout percentage (.667).

Behind their regular season success, the Blue & White (10-4-4, 7-0-1 United East) earned the tournament's top seed. Now, the road to the United East Championship will run through Middletown for the first time in more than a decade. Penn State Harrisburg will be joined by No. 2 St. Mary's (Md.), No. 3 Penn State Berks, and No. 4 Lancaster Bible as teams competing for the conference title.

The action gets underway when the hometown Lions host Lancaster Bible at the college's turf field on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 6. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. At approximately 2:30 p.m., St. Mary's (Md.) will face Penn State Berks for the right to advance to Sunday afternoon's conference championship game.

The winners of Saturday's semifinal matchups will meet for the United East Championship at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 7. The conference champion earns an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Admission to all games is free to all fans. On game day, fans can park in the lots near the athletic fields free of charge. Fans should be prepared to walk to the turf field facility from various lots across campus.

All fans, student-athletes, coaches, and staff visiting Penn State Harrisburg for any reason are required to be masked when using indoor facilities such as restrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities.
