Women's Soccer Suffers Setback at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team was blanked 4-0 by Widener at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg struggled to slow down Widener's offense in a shutout setback on the road on Thursday afternoon.

The Pride (4-2-0) struck first when Alyssa Carman found twine off a Melissa Koch assist in the 16th minute. The home team tacked on two more before the opening half was through, first when Morgan Hart converted an attempt off a Hannah Berard feed in the 23rd minute and again when Carman netted her second marker of the day thanks to a Maura Graves assist little more than five minutes later.

The Lions (3-2-3) were unable to cut into the deficit after halftime and Widener eventually added some insurance when Graves got into the scoring act with a strike that pushed the advantage to four in the 71st minute.
