LATHAM, N.Y. – Thanks to her efforts over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper Delaney Shifflett has been named the United East Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Shifflett was key in helping lead the Lions to a 1-0-1 record during their time competing in Mayor's Cup action in New York oaver the weekend. The senior made six saves in a 1-1 double overtime tie with Hartwick on Saturday before making seven stops in goal to seal a 2-0 shutout victory over Oneonta the next day. For her efforts, the Frederick, Md. native was named to the Mayor's Cup All-Tournament Team.
Shifflett and the rest of the women's soccer team are set to travel to Albright for their next contest on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 15. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
