How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg fell in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play for the first time this season, falling to Penn State Berks 3-0. The Lions were led by Hannah Williams who made 11 saves in goal.

Harrisburg had its hands full, defending the explosive Berks offense, but were up for the challenge in the first half. With goalkeeper Hannah Williams anchoring Harrisburg's defense, the Lions were able to turn away all 14 first half shots, including eight that were saved by Williams. The Lions offense struggled to build possession and were held to only one shot in the half.

The Lions continued to be under constant pressure in the second half. Berks would finally break through with Alexis Schoener scoring her eighth goal of the season in the 50th minute. Harrisburg struggled to find a counter. Megan Caver looked to get the Lions on the board, putting Harrisburg's only shot of the game on goal in the 70th minute, but she could not find the back of the net. Berks would add goals in the 72nd and 78th minutes to put the game out of Harrisburg's reach.
