Fake Has Strong Defensive Showing

Harrisburg, Pa. Penn State Harrisburg battled Frostburg St. in a conference match up that was scoreless for the first 80 minutes. The Lions got an excellent defensive effort from Tabitha Fake who routinely cleared balls from the defense end and her physical play stifled the Bobcats attack for most of the game. The Bobcats would score twice in the 81st and 85th minute to prevail 2-0.

How it Happened:

Penn State Harrisburg was on the attack early with Kristen Stark and Haley Vavrek getting quality chance in the first 3 minutes of the game. The game would settle down seeing both teams getting scoring chances throughout the rest of the half, but thanks to Fake and the rest of the defense, neither team was able to find a goal. The Lion's offense had another great chance in the 68th minute when a Leah Brown shot got away from the Bobcats goalie, finding the foot of Erica Hile whose shot just went over the crossbar. Romina Dichio had a scoring opportunity in the 72nd minute that was denied at the last moment by the Bobcats goalie. Frostburg St. would break through scoring in the 81st minute, and added a second goal off a penalty shot in the 85th minute. With the loss, the Lions fall to 3-4 in CAC play.
