Penn State Harrisburg Earns Hard Fought Win Over Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team put together a team effort Wednesday September 14th against the Elizabethtown Blue Jays.  Harrisburg's freshman goalkeeper Daniella Marroquin earned her first collegiate shut out with the help of a hard fighting defensive effort on way to an exciting 1-0 win

How it Happened

Penn State Harrisburg won its second match of the season this afternoon, when Madison Hemler sent a pass up the middle of the field for Kristen Stark to run on to and finish to the lower left hand corner of the net. This was Stark's first goal of the season and Hemler's first assist of the year.

The Lion's came out strong in the first half, putting the Blue Jay's on their heels for the first 25 minutes of the game. Goal keeper Daniella Marroquin came up big for Harrisburg in the 28th minute of play as she stopped the Blue Jay's by getting her fingertips on the ball and forcing it out of bounds. Marroquin had a second big save in the second half as the home team tried to tie the game up with 40 minutes to go.
