Lions Prevail In Double-Overtime Thriller

LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team started out Saturday's game one player short but the Lady Lions didn't let the early disadvantage harbour the outcome of a thrilling game against the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles.

The first half of the game was dominated by the Lady Lions, now 2-1 on the season. Junior Jessie Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn High) opened up the scoring with her first goal of the season just fifteen minutes into play with an assist from sophomore Megan Frailey (Middletown, PA/Middletown).  Frailey showed her diverse skills and scored an unassisted goal to finish out the first half.

With the 2-0 lead to start the 2nd half, the Lady Lions were stunned by Crimson Eagles furious rally to tie the game and send the game into overtime.  The first overtime period didn't yield any goals, forcing a second overtime. After 101 minutes of play, Manion score the game-winning goal for the Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lions.

The Lady Lions will play their last non-conference opponent on Wednesday September 15 at 4:00PM at Immaculata University.
