MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Lady Lions opened Saturday's double header against NEAC foe Keuka College. Senior Lindsey Stauffer (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt), last years NEAC Player of the Year, joined her team for the first time this season to take on the Storm. The match brought back memories from last years NEAC Championship thriller where the Lady Lions pulled out a win in overtime.

Saturday's game was equally matched as both teams remained scoreless for most of the first half. Keuka's Nicole Miller opened up scoring with a goal off of a corner kick in the 52nd minute. Penn State Harrisburg entered halftime with a 0-1 deficit.

The Lady Lions came out strong in the 2nd half with a Lindsey McNeal (Hershey, PA/Hershey) goal, assisted by Sarah Magnuson (Bangor, PA/Bangor) at the 50th minute. Just minutes later, Kara Hoy (Camp Hill, PA/Camp Hill) scored her 3rd goal of the season assisted by Adrienne Stine (York, PA/Northeastern). Penn State Harrisburg took a commanding 3-1 lead at the 65th minute with a Megan Frailey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) goal. But the game was far from over.

The Storm fought back scoring 2 unanswered goals tying up the game late in the second. The game went on to a scoreless overtime and scoreless double overtime, ending the Lady Lions first home NEAC match at a tie.

Penn State Harrisburg took the field Sunday against Wells College in their second NEAC game of the weekend. The Lady Lions enjoyed the luxury of a few subsititions, something most teams deem a necessity. As a team that has struggled with numbers all season, their performance on the field has not reflected the disadvantage.

Shelly Erb (Jonestown, PA/Northern Lebanon) scored the first Penn State goal early in the game to start the Lady Lions out with a lead. McNeal followed suit and scored the second goal of the day, pushing their lead to 2-0 at the half. The Lady Lions were hungry for more. After a quick progression of passes, McNeal nailed one into the corner of the goal for her second of the day. Jessie Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn High) added a goal at the 27th minute to bring the final score to 4-0. Penn State Harrisburg is now 2-0-1 in NEAC conference play.

The Lady Lions will take the field again on September 29th as they travel to face Wilson College at 4:00 PM.
