Lady Lions Post First-Ever Conference Win

September 17, 2007

The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer squad, playing its first-ever North Eastern Athletic Conference game, opened the 2007 slate with a 2-0 win over Wells College on Saturday. The Lady Lions improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

The Lady Lions wasted little time in making themselves at home in the conference as sophomore Katelyn Roberts (Hummelstown, Pa. /Lower Dauphin H.S.), beat the Wells keeper for the tally just 10:10 into the game. The goal was Roberts' fourth of the year.

The blue and white struck for a second goal when Katie Hollinger (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley H.S.), received a pass off a Katelyn Roberts cross and put the shot on goal. The goal, Hollinger's first of the season, was recorded at the 16:14 minute mark of the first half.

Lady Lion junior goalie Krystal Miranda (Bund Brook, N.J./Bound Brook H.S.) recorded her first shutout of the season.
