Men's Tennis Sweeps Misericordia

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team dominated non-conference opponent Misericordia 9-0 at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30. 

 

The Lions (3-1) got ahead early in doubles action, starting with the No. 1 duo of Cooper Wheeler and Andrew Schreck who defeated Misericordia's Dalton Alexander and Mikey Dylina 8-2. Owen Ou and Derwin Merca secured an 8-2 win over Chase Cavanaugh and Derek Burcik in the No. 2 outing, while Vik Patel and Colin Flack finished doubles competition with an 8-1 decision over Eli Harding and Noah Ceklosky in the third contest. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg's good fortune continued into singles, as Schreck started in the No. 1 spot and secured a victory of 6-0, 6-2 over Alexander. Ou earned the win over Dylina 6-2, 6-1 in the second contest, Merca picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the No. 3 slot, and Patel topped Harding 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 outing. Clayton Herb and Flack sealed the sweep for the Lions with Herb's 6-0, 6-2 win in the fifth match and Flack's 8-2 victory over Karol Bialek in the sixth position. 

 

The Blue & White are scheduled to go up against York (Pa.) for a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 8. The first serve is set for 1 p.m.
