Men's Tennis Sweeps Penn State Berks

READING, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis completed conference play with a 9-0 victory over Penn State Berks on Saturday afternoon, April 23. 

 

The Blue & White swept the doubles matches, with Caleb Fockens and Derwin Merca earning an 8-0 win over Shane Gleason and Anthony Chan in the top doubles contest. Nick Rohn and Andrew Schreck cruised to an 8-2 victory against Cole Epting and Daniel Popovici in the No. 2 match and in the No. 3 outing, Evan Stillwell and Tyr Abendschoen beat Jonathan Morello and Jack Filip. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg saw more success in singles action, with Fockens beating Gleason in the top contest 6-1, 6-0. In the No. 2 matchup, Aaron Krasley earned a 6-1, 6-0 win against Chan, while Schreck went over Epting 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 3 outing. Rohn conquered Popovici in the No. 4 match 6-1, 6-0, Merca rolled in the No. 5 contest, besting Filip 6-0, 6-1, and Abendschoen finished things up with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Owen VanDyke in the No. 6 outing. 

 

The Lions are back in action on Tuesday afternoon, April 26 for a non-conference matchup against Clarks Summit. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
