MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team picked up its first win of the young season in impressive fashion, sweeping Immaculata 9-0 at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 30.

It was all Penn State Harrisburg (1-1) in doubles play, with Caleb Fockens and Sachin Venkatesh combining for an 8-4 victory over IU's Jason Watts and Nicholas Fleming in the No. 1 slot. Nick Rohn and Andrew Schreck made quick work of Jeremy Brown and Nicholas John to the tune of 8-1 in the No. 2 contest, while the No. 3 match saw Rishikesh Singh and Evan Stillwell sweep Sean Chalmers and Kevin Lyons 9-0.

That early success carried over into singles action for the Blue & White, as Fockens made it look easy in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jason Watts in the top solo contest, while Venkatesh (No. 3), Schreck (No. 4), and Rohn (No. 5) also secured 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in their singles matches. Aaron Krasley topped Fleming 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 2 outing and Derwin Merca capped things off with a 6-1, 6-0 victory of his own in the No. 6 matchup.

The Lions will be back in action when they host Gettysburg for another non-conference tilt at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 2. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
