Men's Tennis Falls to LVC In Season Opener

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis was topped by Lebanon Valley 6-3 in the team's 2021-22 season opener at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon, Sept. 24.

 

The Lions (0-1) started off strong in doubles play, taking two of three from the Flying Dutchmen (2-0). Caleb Fockens and Sachin Venkatesh handled LVC's Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren 8-3 in the top doubles contest, while Nick Rohn and Andrew Schreck bested Jeff Bauer and Brendan Byler 8-5 in the No. 2 matchup.

 

Fockens continued to impress in his collegiate debut, making quick work of Schuetz 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles outing. From there, the visitors were able to take the remaining five solo contests to secure the overall victory.

 

Penn State Harrisburg will look to bounce back when the Lions host Immaculata for their next match on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 30.
