Men's Tennis Falls to Susquehanna In Season Opener

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – After more than a year-long hiatus, Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, March 23. The Lions dropped an 8-1 decision to Susquehanna at the Hoverter Tennis Complex in each team's season opener.

Top-of-the-lineup players Sachin Venkatesh and Nick Rohn joined forces to defeat the River Hawks' Joshua Sanderson and John Duncan 8-5 in the No.1 doubles contest. Despite a couple of hard-fought outings in singles action, the doubles' decision proved to be the lone win on the day for the Blue & White.

Venkatesh went to a tiebreaker in the opening set before narrowly falling to SU's top solo player Emil Vyskocil 7-6 (7-6), 6-2, while Rohn kept things close early before being bested by Sanderson 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles matchup.

The Lions will look to bounce back and pick up their first win of the spring when they host Clarks Summit for another non-conference outing on Saturday afternoon, March 27.
