Men's Tennis Wins Rain-Shortened Match at Alvernia

READING, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team picked up its second win of the young season with a rain-shortened, 5-1 victory at Alvernia in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26.

The Lions (2-0) picked up a pair of wins in doubles action, with reigning North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week Nick Rohn teaming up with Austin Stehman for an 8-3 victory in the No. 2 contest and Alex Rohn combining with Alex Kurtz for an 8-3 win in the third doubles outing.

The rain and a delayed start forced singles matches to be contested using 10-game pro sets but the Blue & White were up for the challenge. Sachin Venkatesh came away with a 10-4 win in the top solo matchup, Damir Cuturic rolled to a 10-0 victory in the No. 2 contest and Stehman sealed things with a 10-3 decision in the third singles pairing.

The Blue & White will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Susquehanna for another non-conference contest.
