Penn State Harrisburg will compete in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament for the first time in program history after winning the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship. The Lions will face No. 4 Franklin & Marshall at F&M's Tylus Field on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16.

Going to the Game
(Directions) Ticket prices for Saturday's contest are as follows: $6 for adults, $3 for students with IDs and senior citizens and $2 for children (3-12). Please note that pets are not permitted at Tylus Field during NCAA play.
Student Spirit Bus
(Register) All Penn State Harrisburg students are invited to join Blue & White fans as the group will travel to Franklin & Marshall for the men's soccer team's NCAA Tournament First-Round contest on Saturday. The bus leaves from the Capital Union Building at 11:30 a.m. for the game that kicks off in Lancaster, Pa. at 1 p.m. All admission fees have been taken care of so register now to reserve your spot.
Last Time Out
(Recap) Penn State Harrisburg won its first NEAC Championship in thrilling fashion when Joey Aman buried the game-winning goal in the 107th minute to defeat Keuka 3-2 in double overtime at Nittany Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 10. With the score tied late in the second extra session, Luke Myers won a ball near midfield and played it to Aman sprinting towards the right corner. He corralled the ball, gathered his own blocked shot and lofted a ball over the outstretched right arm of goalkeeper Ryan Mavretish to clinch the conference title and send the Lions into a celebratory frenzy.
Welcome to the Dance
Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team is making its first NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearance in program history. The Lions won the NEAC Championship to clinch the conference's automatic berth to the big dance.
Making History
In addition to making its first trip to the NCAA Tournament, Penn State Harrisburg also set a new single-season program record with 15 victories this fall. The previous record had been 14 wins in a single year, set by the 2014 and 2018 squads, respectively.
Coach K In the NCAA Tournament
Head coach Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz is no stranger to the NCAA Tournament. While head coach at Medaille, Krzyzanowicz led the Mavericks to six trips to the national tourney, including a run to the Sweet 16 in 2010 after a pair of second-round appearances in 2006 and 2009, respectively.

Head coach Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz recently sat down for the 10th installment in a series of weekly interviews highlighting different aspects of the 2019 season. He was joined by players Oscar Cartagena Jr., Mason Jones, Joey Aman and Luis Velasco to discuss all things Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer just days after winning the program's first-ever conference title.
Major Award Winners
Penn State Harrisburg head coach Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz was voted the NEAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year by his peers earlier this month. Thanks to his strong play on the back end, junior defender Shammah Gahomera was named the NEAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year.
All-Conference Honors
In addition to the team's pair of major award winners, seven Penn State Harrisburg players recently earned NEAC All-Conference recognition. Juniors Joey Aman, Shammah Gahomera and Nicholas Guglielmetti received first-team all-conference honors, while Jared Brewer and Luke Myers picked up all-conference second-team accolades. Mason Jones and Jacob Krantweiss were pegged all-conference third teamers.
Among the Nation's Best
As a team, the Blue & White currently rank tied for 12th in the country in shutout percentage (.571). Nicholas Guglielmetti ranks first in the nation in total shutouts (12) and Joey Aman holds a share of 21st-place among NCAA Division III players with five game-winning goals on the year.

Sharing the Wealth
The Lions have scored 40 goals as a team during the 2019 campaign, with 18 different players recording at least one marker and eight different players tallying game winners. Joey Aman is the lone Blue & White player to reach the double-digit scoring mark (12) this season.
F&M Quick Glance
No. 4 Franklin & Marshall (16-3) will be making its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Diplomats have made 10 tournament appearances overall and won the national championship in 1952. F&M finished as the Centennial Conference runner-up after falling to No. 3 Johns Hopkins in the title game over the weekend. The Dips rank 36th in the country in corner-kick opportunities per game (6.47) and 39th in the nation with a .762 goals-against average. Six F&M players earned all-conference recognition for their play this fall and head coach Dan Wagner was named the Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Coach of the Year.
Montclair State Quick Glance
Montclair State (16-4-1) is set to make its 13th NCAA Tournament appearance in 14 years after capturing the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship with a 1-0 victory over Rowan on the weekend. Sophomore Michael Knapp was tabbed the NJAC Midfielder of the Year, freshman Oscar Sanchez was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year and seven Red Hawks earned all-conference honors for their strong efforts this fall. This is MSU's 18th trip to the NCAA Tournament overall, with the Red Hawks advancing all the way to the Final Four as recently as 2011.
Hobart Quick Glance
Hobart (14-4-2) is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history after winning its third Liberty League Championship with a 2-1 victory over Clarkson on Sunday. The Statesmen are receiving votes in both national polls and five players were honored with All-Liberty League accolades for their play this year, led by senior first-teamers in Nate Cary and Binjo Emmanuel.

If the Lions are able to pull off the upset of No. 4 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, they'll take on the winner of the Montclair State/Hobart first-round matchup in NCAA Tournament Second-Round action at Tylus Field on Sunday afternoon.
