How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg won its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship in thrilling fashion when Joey Aman buried the game-winning goal in the 107th minute to defeat Keuka 3-2 in double overtime at Nittany Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 10.

With the score tied late in the second extra session, Luke Myers won a ball near midfield and played it to Aman sprinting towards the right corner. He corralled the ball, gathered his own blocked shot and lofted a ball over the outstretched right arm of goalkeeper Ryan Mavretish to clinch the conference title and send the Lions (15-5-1) into a celebratory frenzy.

The Blue & White trailed as late as the 78th minute but Mason Jones hammered home the equalizer following a free kick from Myers near midfield in the waning minutes of the second half.

After falling behind in the first half, the Wolves (9-10-1, 6-5) scored back-to-back goals in the span of 33 seconds to pull ahead and swing the momentum to the side of the visitors. Chris Millard netted a pretty marker from just inside the midfield stripe in the 32nd minute and Samba Doukhansy netted the go-ahead tally moments later.

After nearly 30 minutes of scoreless soccer, Toma Nichik opened the contest's scoring with a header off a penalty corner insertion from Myers and a header flick from Aman at the 29:52 mark.
