Men's Golf Opens Spring at McDaniel Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2021-22 schedule at the two-day McDaniel Spring Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club over the weekend. The Lions battled through rough conditions to secure a 12th-place team finish, while Tiger Xu's fourth-place individual finish led the way.

 

Xu was Penn State Harrisburg's top performer, shooting a two-day 155, +11 to finish in a tie for fourth place. Josh Africa was the team's next-highest finisher, as his two-day effort of 165, +21 was good enough for a share of 36th. 

 

Matthew Redman came through with a 53rd-place finish thanks to carding a two-day total of 170, +26, while Andrew Fink's two-day 176, +32 was good enough to secure a share of 66th place. Ian Martin rounded out the Blue & White competitors, finishing 75th with a two-day score of 182, +38.

 

Franklin & Marshall won the team title with a score of 627, +51, while Dickinson's Tyler Tornoe won the individual championship with a two-day effort of 152, +8.

 

The Lions will return to action at the two-day Penn State Division III Challenge in State College, Pa. beginning next Saturday, April 2.
