Men's Golf Gears Up For Postseason Play at Alvernia Invitational

MOHNTON, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg men's golf got one last tune up in before hosting the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships this weekend. The Lions finished seventh out of 12 competing teams at the Alvernia Spring Invitational at the LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday, April 20.

 

As a group, the Blue & White posted a total score of 316 (+32). York (Pa.) took home the team trophy thanks to an overall score of 294 (+10), while the Spartans' Riley Rohlfs won the individual championship thanks to his score of 71 (E).

 

Matt Redman led the way for the Lions, carding a 75 (+4) and earning a share of seventh place overall. Andrew Fink just missed out on a top-20 finish with a 78 (+7) and Ian Martin shot an even 80 (+9) to finish in a tie for 32nd place. Josh Africa posted an 83 (+12) and Josh Swartz completed the Blue & White contingency by shooting an 87 (+16).

 

With the regular season now behind them, the Lions turn their attention to the two-day NEAC Championship event they're set to host at nearby Dauphin Highlands Golf Course on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25.
