Men's Golf Victorious at NEAC Championship Preview Event

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg men's golf was victorious at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship preview event held at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon, April 14.

 

The Lions edged out the runners-up from Rutgers-Camden, as the Blue & White carded team total of 306 (+18) and the Scarlet Raptors posted a combined score of 307 (+19). Rutgers-Camden's Chris Colman and Penn State Abington's Nick DeGirolamo tied atop the individual leaderboard, with both golfers shooting a 74 (+2).

 

Andrew Fink was the low man for Penn State Harrisburg thanks to his 75 (+3); a score strong enough to earn him a share of third place overall. Tiger Xu carded a 76 (+4) to secure a share of fifth place, while reigning NEAC Men's Golfer of the Week stayed strong and shot a 77 (+5), as did fellow freshman Ian Martin, good enough to earn the pair a share of seventh place in the process.

 

Josh Swartz was the fifth Blue & White golfer to break 80, as his 78 (+6) was good enough to clinch him a share of 10th place, while Joshua Africa rounded out the Penn State Harrisburg contingency by posting an 83 (+11).

 

The Lions have one last event scheduled before hosting the conference championships in 10 days. The Blue & White will compete at Alvernia's Spring Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, April 20.
