Redman Wins Individual Title at Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa.Matthew Redman had the most memorable outing of his young career when he won the individual championship at the Susquehanna Spring Invitational held at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club on Sunday afternoon, April 11.

 

In addition to Redman's individual title, the Lions earned a runner-up finish as a team thanks to a combined score of 316 (+36), just one shot off the winning mark. Scranton took home the team trophy by carding a 315 (+35).

 

Redman shot a 75 (+5), a mark matched only by Scranton's Matthew Fleming. Redman earned the individual victory by a match of cards and having the top score for the final nine holes. Josh Africa secured Penn State Harrisburg's second top-five finish of the round with a 78 (+8).

 

Andrew Fink just missed out on breaking 80, recording an 81 (+11) to earn a share of 12th place, while Josh Swartz finished just behind him in 14th thanks to his 82 (+12). Ian Martin completed the Penn State Harrisburg group of competitors and tallied an 83 (+13) to secure a share of 16th overall.

 

The next time the Blue & White are in action, they'll be competing on their home course, as the Lions are set to host a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship preview event at Dauphin Highlands on Wednesday afternoon, April 14.
