CAC Championship Preview Video

A new era of CAC Men's Golf begins this week, as the winner of this year's CAC Championship will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the first time ever. The 2016 CAC Men's Golf Championship will also feature a three-round format for the first time, beginning Friday, April 15 and concluding on Sunday, April 17 at Bay Creek Golf Course in Cape Charles, Va.

For the third straight season, seven squads will compete for the CAC crown. Five full CAC members – Christopher Newport, Marymount, Penn State Harrisburg, Wesley, and York – along with associate members New Jersey City and William Paterson – are set to tee off this weekend.

New Jersey City and William Paterson were added as associate members in 2014, beginning the process of the CAC's automatic NCAA Tournament bid. Full member Mary Washingtion will add golf in the 2016-17 season.

Christopher Newport heads into this year's event as the favorite, as the Captains are the two-time defending champions and also won a preview tournament this past fall at Bay Creek. CNU was the unanimous selection to three-peat in a preseason vote among the conference coaches.
