ITA Honors Men's and Women's Tennis For Academic Efforts

TEMPE, Ariz. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's tennis teams, as well as 11 individual players, were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic efforts during the 2019-20 campaign.

 

The men's and women's tennis programs each earned ITA All-Academic Team recognition for posting a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher during the most-recent academic year. The women's squad recorded an impressive 3.84 team GPA, while the men accumulated a 3.56 combined GPA. For the women, it is the program's sixth consecutive ITA All-Academic Team honor.

 

Individually, women's players Sheiva Ansary, Courtney Bennett, Abigail Clifford, Vaishnavi Datta, Erin Harnish, Rachael Lim, and Elle Mellott earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, as did men's players Hubert Aguilar, Nick Rohn, Ebram Samouel, and Austin Stehman. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner, hold a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
