SALEM, Va. - Kylie Anne Yap made her collegiate debut a memorable one as her first career goal proved the difference in a 1-0 season-opening victory for Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team over Roanoke on day one of the Roanoke Invitational on Friday night, Sept. 1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (1-0) opened the season at the Roanoke Invitational and came away with a victory over the hosts thanks to the first goal of Kylie Anne Yap's career.

After a scoreless opening half, the Lions wasted no time taking the lead in the second when Yap found the back of the net off an assist from Kylee Altland just 1:44 after the break.

Following the game's lone score, the Penn State Harrisburg defense locked in and allowed just three shots for Roanoke (0-1) the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Sydney Mulka made the last of her three saves with more than 32 minutes remaining and the Maroons managed just one more attempt from that point forward.
