Women's Soccer Falls In United East Championship Game

READING, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team battled into overtime before eventually falling 3-0 to top-seeded Penn State Berks in the 2022 United East Championship Game on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 5. 

 

The Lions (13-4-3) battled for the duration of regulation and into the first overtime session before the home team finally broke the scoreless tie when Emily Clapper found the back of the net in the 95th minute. 

 

Before the first extra period was through, Penn State Berks (13-5-2) struck again when Ashley Jocham converted her attempt in the 97th minute. Penn State Harrisburg pushed up in the second overtime but was unable to find the back of the net before Clapper put things out of reach with her second marker of the game in the 102nd minute.

- The loss snapped Penn State Harrisburg's recent nine-game unbeaten streak.

- The championship game appearance was the second in as many years for the Lions.

- Penn State Harrisburg was outshot 15-9 overall and 8-6 in shots on frame.
